Art Classes Suffolk focuses on enabling an individual approach and style to develop at an individual pace. Knowledge of art history and contemporary practice is also gained. Teaching is constructive and geared to meet individual needs whether an absolute beginner or with some experience, with everybody exchanging ideas and knowledge gained.
Classes focus on seeing ‘better’ whatever your experience within a supportive, encouraging and positive environment. Making work directly from observation or the ‘seen’ world is therefore at the heart of the weekly teaching. Classes develop thematic ideas over a period of weeks focusing on a broad, eclectic range of still life forms, on landscape and occasionally on the figure.
Different materials are explored to gradually extend understanding of an artists ’toolbox’.
Once confidence is gained in drawing, painting becomes easier to tackle, so can also be used in the sessions. Painting classes are also offered as periodic whole day workshops. (Please check the Timetable and Info page).
