Art Classes Suffolk is run by Helen Gilbart at Walberswick on the atmospheric north Suffolk coast. Helen has a long career as a professional, practising artist for which she has won numerous awards. She has several postgraduate fine art qualifications having studied Painting and Drawing extensively, as well as Printmaking and Bronze casting. Helen is a fully qualified QTLS teacher with wide experience of teaching fine art within schools and further and higher education environments. She also has specialist experience teaching confidence building courses through Suffolk County Council to vulnerable adults because her teaching is always orientated to building confidence and courage to do things you otherwise might not. Helen has an extensive, all embracing knowledge and interest in art history. The classes are supported by screenings of art from everywhere and every period from cave art to local hero Constable and to the latest happenings in the Tate’s Turbine Hall. All this experience is brought to bear through a relaxed, informative teaching style that aims specifically to encourage an individual approach to art making.
